IN-PERSON CLASS:

ON-CAMERA ACTING FOR THE THEATER PROFESSIONAL

Co-taught by the creators of Being On Camera and On-Camera Auditioning, this workshop is designed for theater professionals who want to develop a more personal relationship with The Camera.

Focused more on process than on product, we give each student the opportunity to spend time in front of the lens, exploring how it feels to Be, rather than perform. The camera is infinitely interested in watching us. It wants to be there.

This 5-week workshop invites you to learn how to not only welcome your relationship with the camera, but to enjoy it.

This class might be for you if you:

  • Are a theater professional looking to investigate the mechanics of screen acting.

  • Want to explore being on camera without having to always focus on getting the job.

In this class you will:

  • Address specific issues like “being too much” or “too big” on camera, and what that actually means.

  • Present monologues and work with them on camera.

  • Explore how you feel in front of the camera.

By the end of the class you will:

  • Have a better understanding of your relationship with the camera.

  • Know how to enjoy the art of acting for the screen, setting a solid foundation for your future work and artistic exploration.
