THE ANDREW LEYNSE LEGACY PROJECT
The Andrew Leynse Legacy Project was created to support productions that Andrew had been planning prior to his death and works by artists with whom Andrew had a strong artistic relationship.
As Artistic Director of Primary Stages for 21 seasons, Andrew was responsible for the New York and World Premieres of more than 70 new plays. He brought audiences the latest works of established writers such as Charles Busch, Horton Foote, David Ives, Terrence McNally, and Theresa Rebeck, and championed new voices such as Clarence Coo, Danai Gurira, Kate Hamill, Deborah Zoe Laufer, Jiehae Park, Nikkole Salter, Billy Porter, and Sharon Washington.
