HONORING
Thom Sesma with the Einhorn Mentorship Award

A beloved stage veteran, Thom appeared most recently in Broadway’s Dead Outlaw, for which he won the 2024 Outer Critics Circle Award for Featured Performer in a Musical. Thom made his Primary Stages debut in 2018 as Leo Tolstoy in Scott Carter’s The Gospel According to Thomas Jefferson, Charles Dickens, and Leo Tolstoy: Discord. In addition to his leading roles on Broadway and National Tours, such as Scar in The Lion King and The Engineer in Miss Saigon, Thom’s recent Off-Broadway credits include Pacific Overtures and A Man of No Importance at Classic Stage Company, Superhero at Second Stage, and the title character in the immersive production of Sweeney Todd at Barrow Street Theatre, among others.

Thom joined the Primary Stages Einhorn School of Performing Arts (ESPA) acting faculty in 2019 and developed a special online curriculum to help actors work and create despite the social distance during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Our second honoree—the recipient of the Andrew Leynse Commitment to New Plays Award—and performers for this year’s Gala will be announced soon.

Performers for our 40th Anniversary Gala included Jay Armstrong Johnson (Parade, On the Town), Judy Gold (Yes, I Can Say That!, 25 Questions for a Jewish Mother), Deidre Goodwin (Chicago, A Chorus Line), Julia Murney (Wicked, The Wild Party), Brad Oscar (The Producers, Something Rotten), Matthew Saldívar (Peter and the Starcatcher, The Wedding Singer), and Joy Woods (Gypsy, The Notebook)!
