No sooner do you put the pen down on a play than the temptation to rewrite begins. This class will help you master the difficult process of play revision by working toward a clear goal established at the start of the ten weeks. Whether you choose to embark on a rewrite of your entire play or individual scenes, writing exercises and in-class discussion will inspire you to ask new questions of your play, look at it from various angles, and engage in analysis with your fellow writers. As you write, you will hear your pages read aloud in class and participate in a dialogue tailored by your instructor to your individual needs. Risk taking will be encouraged as you open your mind to the infinite possibilities of your play. As you approach your goals for the class, you will develop a set of revision tools that can be applied to any future project.
