Online Classes

ESPA offers online classes as an extension of the time-tested writing curriculum.

Online classes help you create a draft of your new play or adaptation through weekly assignments and written lectures, providing the necessary structure and deadlines to those outside the tri-state area or with unpredictable schedules. Students will have access to their instructor and classmates via a virtual classroom, including an interactive discussion board and virtual office hours.

How ESPA’s Virtual Classrooms Work:

Lectures and Assignments: Every week on a designated day, the instructor will post a lecture personalized to meet the needs of students and may include suggested outside reading, viewing, or websites to explore. The instructor will also post an assignment, which can run the gamut from 10-minute writing exercises to turning in the next ten pages of your project. The instructor will post ten lectures and assignments over the course of 10-12 weeks.

Posting and Sharing: The virtual classroom has an interactive discussion board for students to upload their assignments, bounce ideas off of each other, share files, and give feedback.

Virtual Office Hours: The instructor will post their virtual office hours each week, during which students can opt for 20 minutes of private discussion via Google Talk, Gchat, phone, or Skype.
