Play development labs, summer conferences, MFA programs, grants, fellowships...the list of such career-launching possibilities is as extensive as it is exciting. So you set your sights high and work through each application with confidence intact only to stumble upon those dreaded, required fields: log lines, plot summaries, and artistic statements. Don’t let your career or confidence falter because of those perennial questions. In this 2-day workshop, Jill Rafson (Director of New Play Development at Roundabout, who personally shepherded the original commission, development, Off-Broadway run, and now the Tony-winning run of the Pulitzer-nominated The Humans) will help you conquer the overwhelming task of writing about yourself and your work. She will share practical tips on how to articulate what makes your work vital and provide a font of knowledge about how to make your statement—and your application as a whole, including log lines and plot synopses—more competitive.
