"I am thrilled to be able to stay on top of my personal artistic goals and keep my connection to ESPA and Primary Stages alive by participating in sessions that fit so easily into my hectic schedule."
- ESPA Online Writing Student
ESPA offers online classes as an extension of our time-tested writing curriculum! Our online classes help you create or polish a draft of your new play through weekly assignments and written lectures, providing the necessary structure and deadlines to those outside the tri-state area or with unpredictable schedules. Students will have access to their instructor and classmates via a virtual classroom, including virtual office hours and enhanced file-sharing capabilities.
The following classes are available online in the Summer of 2017:

HOW ESPA'S ONLINE CLASSROOM WORKS
Lectures and Assignments
Every week on a designated day, the instructor will post a lecture personalized to meet the needs of students and may include suggested outside reading, viewing, or websites to explore. The instructor will also post an assignment, which can run the gamut from 10-minute writing exercises to turning in the next ten pages of your project. The instructor will post eight lectures and assignments over the course of the class.
Posting and Sharing
The virtual classroom has enhanced file-sharing capabilities for students to share work, bounce ideas off each other, and give feedback.
Virtual Office Hours
Instructors will post their virtual office hours each week, during which students can opt for 15-20 minutes of private discussion via Google Talk, phone, or Skype.
Online Classes with live lectures using Citrix
Please note that Online Television Writing and Online Rewrite will follow a different structure than other ESPA online classes. Visit the class page to learn more about the live lectures and interactive Citrix platform.
