Jeni Mahoney is a playwright, artistic director, teacher, director, and new play development geek. She is the founding Artistic Director of Seven Devils Playwrights Conference where, since 2001, she has been instrumental in the development of over 150 new plays, including works by Samuel D. Hunter, Jen Silverman, Hansol Jung, Lee Blessing, Jennifer Haley, and Robert Schenkkan. With more than a decade of teaching experience, Jeni served as the Head of Playwriting at Playwrights Horizons Theater School/NYU Tisch School for the Arts for seven years. The 2015 world premiere of her playFata Morgana, at Boise Contemporary Theater, received a grant from the National Endowment of the Arts, is published in “Plays and Playwrights 2016” (indietheaternow.com), and was named on 2015 Kilroy Honorable Mention List. Her plays have been presented at the National Playwrights Conference, InterAct Theater, Greenwich Playhouse (London), L.A. Theater Center, MidWest New Play Festival, Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, Circus Theatricals, Key City Public, and Boston Theater Marathon, among others. Jeni was inducted into the Indie Theater Hall of Fame and named one of its 2014 People of the Year.
