The audition starts the second you enter the room, well before you begin your monologue or sides. All too often, actors undermine their talent by making simple mistakes in the room, or on their resumes. Over the course of two sessions, Primary Stages Associate Artistic Director Michelle Bossy will help you lead with confidence and intelligence so you can be taken seriously and legitimately as the kind of performer industry professionals want to work with. In the first session, you’ll present your audition materials to Michelle, and receive expert feedback on your monologue, resume, and cold-reading skills.
Your final class will be attended by a prominent NYC director or casting agent, who will provide invaluable insight and feedback. Previous guests for Acting classes have included Darragh Garvey (Casting Department, MTC), Marcia Milgrom Dodge (Tony-nominated Director and Choreographer, Ragtime on Broadway), Ken Rus Schmoll (Director, Iowa at Playwrights Horizons), and Ken Melamed (Agent/Partner, Bret Adams Agency).
Please note that final class guests are subject to change.
