if you've tackled IPA, you know that developing authentic, grounded dialects takes a lot more than just luck. In this 5-week class, you will head to the Emerald Isle to explore Dublin and Western Irish accents. You will learn to use essential tools, including resonance, music, phonetics, oral posture, and cultural gesture, and then apply them to essential texts, such as The Pillowman, The Cripple of Inishmaan, The Beauty Queen of Leenane, and Once.
A working knowledge of the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) is required to take Dialects 2. (If you don't already have working knowledge of IPA, we highly recommend Dialects 1!)
