New Class!
Developing a diverse repertoire of strong monologues is key to having the right piece when the audition of a lifetime comes at a moment’s notice. Just as you wouldn’t prepare a David Ives piece to audition for an Ibsen play, you probably wouldn’t bring in Sarah Ruhl for a Molière farce. Each week for five weeks, you will perform and be coached on a specific style of monologue by a director who is an expert in that style. These directors will each focus on one of these play worlds: Shakespeare, Chekhov, Contemporary Comedy, Contemporary Drama, and American Masters. You’ll leave with insight into the casting process of these different types of theater and five polished monologues that are performance-ready for any audition.
Instructors subject to change due to scheduling conflicts.
