JIM BOERLIN

 

studied acting with Herbert Berghof and Uta Hagen. New York theatre includes The American Clock (directed by Austin Pendleton), The Bald Soprano (directed by Amy Wright), The Mill Hand’s Lunch Pail (with Charles Dutton), The Pidgeon Sisters (directed by Beatrice Straight), The Smile of the Cardboard Man (directed by Herbert Berghof), Sophia Equals Wisdom (directed by Richard Foreman), Jeffrey Jones’ Apparitions, and Harold Pinter’s One for the Road and The Dumb Waiter (also in Germany). Regional theatre includes: A Flea in Her Ear, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Macbeth, Waiting for Godot, Gaslight, Under Milkwood, The Boor and Arsenic and Old Lace. Directing credits include On the Verge, Steel Magnolias, The Subject was Roses, Once Upon a Mattress, Funny Girl, Lady Mindy’s, The Sun Always Shines for the Cool and Rum & Vodka (Germany). Co-wrote and directed, El Hombre Perfecto currently running in Mexico City. TV: “Secrets” (PBS), “Love, Sex and Marriage” (ABC-TV Movie), “Just Posing” (IFC), and “Another World.” Co-founder of Hoboken Theatre Company and Pittsburgh Metropolitan Theatre Company (appointed to Pennsylvania Arts Council). Teaching: Carnegie Mellon University, American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Adelphi University, Primary Stages Company, and Michael Chekhov Studio, where he was also Executive Director. He was also co-chair of the HB Artistic Council from 2004-2007.
