Pre-show/Writing ritual
MMorning sex and coffee (or just coffee)
JJ: I'm a night writer. I work between midnight and 4am with Kylie, my Shiba Inu at my side.
J: Organize, categorize, alphabetize anything I can get my hands on.
C: Pre-show= running to the train. Writing = Cleaning my house, petting my pups, procrastinating until I can barely breath - breakthroughs usually come through in the shower.
R: Listening to music - a hugh influence and mood setter as I write.
E: Coffee and a bike ride through Prospect Park
K: Writing= a strong cup of Lapsang Souchong. Acting= a roll on the floor while speaking all my lines out loud.
Y: Before a performance I breathe deeply as if recovering from drowning. When writing I must have music playing unless I am writing something violent or ugly.
Book you are reading
M: TDF's Outrageous Fortune: The Life and Times of the New American Play and Just Kids by Patti Smith
JJ: A Moveable Feast by Ernest Hemingway
J: Brief & Wonderous Life of Oscar Wao

R: The Girl Who walked Home Alone: Better Davis, A Personal Biography
E: The Shadow of the Wind by Carols Ruiz Zafon
K: re-reading The Omnivore's Dilemma
Y: Shakespeare's A Winter's Tale and Isabel Allende's new novel Island Beneath the Sea which chronicles the Haitian revolt of the 18th century
Highlight of the year (so far)
M: The 15th Floor
JJ: Working on the rewrite of my play The End of Days in the lobby of the Hotel Glymur on the Whale Fjord in Iceland and looking up to see the Northern Lights
J: Finding a creative home.
C: Sitting with Marina Ambrovic
R: "Breaking Through"
E: Went to Vegas and met the son/nephew of the Car Talk guys! For real.
K: Finding myself (repeatedly) on the 15th Floor.
Y: Being a part of the awesome production of The All American Genderf*uk Cabaret which sold out every performance. And, being a part of 15th Floor
Your perfect day
M: Waking up in Woody Allen's Sleeper and finding out that everything that was thought to be bad for you was actually really good, other than that, making theater and good conversation which hopefully is the same thing.
JJ: Taking Kylie on a hike down to the little red lighthouse under the George Washington Bridge, sitting in on rehearsal, dinner with my boyfriend Chris, an 8:00pm curtain and a glass of wine over late night rewrites.
J: Swim laps, drink diet coke, write a little, watch arcane PBS documentry about topic I didn't know existed, write a little, drink more diet coke, write more, sleep a lot.
C: A 5 mile run, a foodie lunch with friends, a great exhibit, coffee and dessert at Sebarsky's before heading home. Watching the Yankees walk off home run win then watching Friday Night Lights on my DVR.
R: A chilly, cloudy Fall day spent doing anything.
E: Writing, run with the poochs, sexy time w/husband, watch an exciting basketball game, moderate alcohol consumption.
K: I write. I drink tea. I write. I drink tea. I write. I go to Monster Sushi. I go to the theatre. I dream that night.
Y: Waking up rested. Going to the gym or yoga. Rehearsal. Walking around the city to think/clear head/create. Go see a film or play. Dinner with friends. Go see a live band. Go dancing...go home...maybe.
Favorite theater urban legend
M: It takes 10 years to make.
JJ: I'm obsessed with ghost stories. Olive Thomas haunting the New Amsterdam Theater, Judy Garland at the Palace, David Belasco.
J: My education is lacking in this area.
C: the ghosts thing...thrills me.
R: Any theater that is known for having a ghost.
E: Productions from the slush pile
K: "You're only as good as your last hit."
Y: Elanie Stritch and her cup of spiked coffee.
Alter ego
M: A repressed gay man trapped in a businessman trapped in a housewife that watches Oprah.
JJ: JJ Keyes, travel writer and photographer.
J: Too many to count.
C: Little Lulu. All the way.
R: Carrie Bradshaw
E: Golden Girl, Sophia Petrillo
K: Wilma Flintstone
Y: This is a secret. HIGHLY CLASSIFIED.
Favorite place in NYC
M: A theater/rehearsal room with people that have a common goal in mind.
JJ: Cafe Sabarsky at The Neue Galerie

Y: Blue Ribbon, Clover Club, The Radiant Room at the Russian Turkish Baths, The Japanese Garden in The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, The Met...oops that's more than one.
Hidden talent
M: Making my sister laugh til she pees her pants. I think it's a talent. She seems to disagree.
JJ: Yoga. I grew up doing it and am a certified Vinyasa instructor. I think most people need a little yoga in their life, especially when volcanoes are erupting and the economy isn't doing so well.
J: Understanding anything. And juggling.
C: I'm a phenomenal dancer.
R: Give me a date in the current calendar year and I can tell you the day of the week
E: Dog training.

J: Clybourne Park
C: Let Me Down Easy - Anna Devere Smith
R: Looped
E: Neighbors at The Public
K: Chuck Mee's bobraushenbergamerica
Y: Mary Stuart
A guilty pleasure
M: I call it 'crack yoga': All you need is a few trashy magazines, some crazy flavored gum like tropical mango madness, loud music and an elliptical machine set to random. It's not pretty but it works.
JJ: HBO. I'm addicted to Big Love, True Blood and How to Make it in America.
J: Crap TV, like everyone else.
C: Ribs. Delicious BBQ ribs.
R: Taco Bell
E: Afternoon naps.
K: Reading fiction that has nothing to do with what I'm working on.
